Which Social Networks are Right for Your Business? Part One: "The Big 3"

Facebook

Everyone's on it. In fact, there's probably too many people and brands on Facebook. This is likely the reason why Facebook has decided to reduce the organic reach for Pages down to less than 1%. This means that reaching fans of your company, brand or public persona is no longer 'free'. They want you to buy Ads, Sponsored Posts, you name it. Facebook may be everyone's addiction, but if you want to feed it, you're going to have to pay up.

Google+

Though it may be diminishing in importance, it's still #2 (give or take), a great resource for SEO while playing by Google's rules. Use it, get your business name or public persona verified and linked with your site using Google My Business. Another tip: Long-form posts work great on Google+.

Twitter

Twitter is probably the best way to reach out to followers. It's being used as a direct contact to celebrities and public figures from CEOs to Presidents. It's simple, and straight-forward, and now there's Twitter Business, making it easier than ever for a professional, sponsored approach to Twitter. The platform integrates Twitter Analytics and Twitter Ads into one, easy to use platform.
