Amherst Chamber of Commerce Launches New Website

AMHERST, NY, MARCH 11, 2008- The Amherst Chamber of Commerce launched a new, redesigned website, offering new features to Chamber members while updating their design. This website now elevates the Amherst Chamber's ability to reach its members while executing a clean, modern design with intuitive features.

The website redesign allows the Chamber to offer better access to its member directory and also allows users to register for information about Benefit Solutions, a program designed to help member businesses build employee benefits for their companies.

Victoria R. Sturman, Director of Member Services at the Chamber said, "The redesign of our website was an integral part of the Chamber‘s new branding campaign. It allows us to better communicate with our members and the public at large. Business owners can apply and pay for a new membership online, while current members can renew membership online, something they were never able to do in the past. The new site also enables us to implement new programs, such as our member-to-member discount program, at no cost to our members."

The website was designed by 360 PSG, an Amherst Chamber of Commerce member, utilizing their Fission Content Management System. The CMS allows the Amherst Chamber staff to edit and update their website themselves, without the need for a tech department. They also have a new News Manager, a feature that gives the Amherst Chamber the capability of instant news updates, along with archives for digital versions of their newsletters.

"The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is very excited about its new website because it allows us to really become a resource for our members," Sturman said. "The website is the first point of contact with our membership and all our potential members in the community. It was imperative the site be designed in a way that gave us an easy to maintain format as well as a trouble-free way to modify our content. 360 PSG's content management system makes it extremely easy for us to update the site with current information. We can modify content at any time, and don't have to rely on someone to do it for us."
