Has Pinterest Caught Your Interest?by system
The latest social media network to go viral, Pinterest is a virtual "pinboard," that allows users organize images, videos, and other content they find on the Web. "The basic idea behind Pinterest," Time Magazine wrote, "which lets you create and share collections of stuff you like in any category you choose — has been tried before by startups that didn't make much of a mark. This time it might take off."
"Take off" might have been a bit of an understatement. With 12 million unique visitors spending an average of 1 hour 17 minutes on the site each day, Pinterest is one of the fastest growing social networks to date. According to recent reports, Pinterest is also "the fastest growing site for traffic referrals, driving more than Google+, YouTube and LinkedIn combined."
While the female dominated site is filled with its share of fashion, food, and home decor images, hundreds of brands have already become early adopters of the site, ranging from sports teams to book publishers to colleges and universities - the list continues to grow each day.
